2020 Idaho & Minnesota Camps Canceled

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cristo Vive has made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the Idaho and Minnesota camps for 2020.

The health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and all of the campers we serve are at all times our absolute top priority. Given the continuing high risk factors, government restrictions and general uncertainty surrounding the current COVID-19 situation, we regretfully have no other option this year.

If you made a payment toward camp fees, we will be in touch with you soon regarding your refund.

December Newsletter 2019

Merry Christmas to all our friends and supporters of Cristo Vive International!

“And when we give each other Christmas Gifts in His name, let us remember that He has given us the sun and the moon and the stars, and the earth with its forests and mountains and oceans—and all that lives and moves upon them. He has given us all green things and everything that blossoms and bears fruit—and all that we have misused—and to save us from our own foolishness, from all our sins, He came down to earth and gave us himself.” –Sigrid Undset

As we come to the end of the year, we want to give thanks for everything God provided, and the work done in His name in 2019. There is certainly much good news to share and plenty to be thankful for!

Featured Camp – Ecuador 2019

On May 24-26th, we held our first camp for 2019 in Guayaquil. Many volunteers joined us as we celebrated the seven campers who attended camp. Five out of seven campers were baptized at this camp—Praise God!

We also implemented a new activity at the Guayaquil camp, in which the campers had the opportunity to take part in communion together.

Our second Guayaquil camp occurred on August 24-25th. Thirteen wonderful campers joined us for this camp, and we had many memorable experiences.

Finally, the third camp was held on November 1-3rd. This camp followed the rule of threes: three fun-filled days, three brand new campers, and three campers who gave their life to Christ! We had a total of 12 campers and received amazing reports from several of the parents. They reported that their children could not stop talking about their experience hearing about God, times of worship, and playing games with their new friends.

Engebretsen Family Update

As you may remember, Gene and Jordana started their sabbatical year in September. As you receive this letter, the family is preparing for their big move from Alaska to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Gene and Jordana have experienced the hand of God in preparing for the move, but we ask that you to continue to pray for their remaining needs:

  • The delivery and loading of a storage container and its safe arrival to Coeur d’Alene.
  • Times of blessing and joy in the “goodbyes” of cherished friendships.
  • Safety for travel by land and air.
  • Housing in Coeur d’Alene
  • Development of new relationships in a new community, school and church.
  • Finances needed for this transition.
  • Patience for the journey and the ability to continue to see God’s hand leading the way.

If you would like to make a personal donation to help the Engebretsen family with moving expenses, please send a check made out to Gene and Jordana Engebretsen to the Interim Ministry Director, Cheryl Furst at the address listed at the bottom of this page. She will ensure this gift is forwarded to the family.
